The Alta U16M uses a very large format 16-megapixel full frame sensor with micro-lenses and anti-blooming gates, ideal for applications requiring large field of view, such as astrophotography,
sky surveys, and radiology.
The camera was bought in 2007 and used for sky survey purposes on a 60-cm, f/3.3 and 20-cm, f/4 Flat-Field telescopes until December 2019. Camera is basicly in working condition, though
we occasionally experienced problem with USB port communication, presumably on camera side. For this reason, we offer the camera at highly reduced price.
Since the CCD sensor is by far the most expensive component in any camera, it can be transplanted in a new camera as offered by
Diffraction Limited Company.
Our Alta U16M has undamaged large 4000 x 4000K format sensor and small 9 micron pixels. Transplanted in a new camera would be ideal option for astrophotography or
sky survey application. We are the first owner, complete purchase documentation is available on request.
