Črni Vrh Observatory - Periodic Comet P/2010 H2 (Vales)

Observation of a dust spiral structure in periodic comet P/2010 H2 (Vales)

We observed the comet P/2010 H2 (Vales) on May 1, 2010 from the Črni Vrh Observatory using B, V and R photometric filters, as well as clear filter, with the 0.6-m, f/3.3 Cichocki telescope in moonless conditions and seeing of about 3.0 arc-seconds. The pixel scale was 0.93 arcseconds. The exposures, all of 8 minutes duration were guided on comet and obtained between 19:46 and 20:31 UT with comet between 40 and 44 degrees above the horizon.

To resolve more details inside the coma all images were processed with the wavelet decomposition tool of the IRIS software. Images are displayed in false colors.
